Imbolc and New Beginnings

Last year was the 1st time I heard of Imbolc and it resonated deeply for me as I was going through a shift and change of my own.  Imbolc is a pagan holiday celebrated from February 1 through sundown February 2 (the root of Groundhogs Day). Based on a Celtic tradition, Imbolc was meant to mark the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring, highlighting some aspects of winter and sunlight, and heralding the change of seasons.

What I noticed is that it coincided with noticeable longer daylight, the budding of Lenten roses and crocouses in my my yard and an easing of Winter’s grip.  A time of hope, new beginnings, and awe.

We all go through difficult seasons in our lives and experience our own personal Imbolc.  Leave the difficult behind and hold on to the hope, new beginnings, and awe of what is to come.  You’ll be amazed at what lays around the bend for you with the right focus and attention.

Cheers to your own personal Imbolc and transformation.
